Please read this post entirely. When you are finished reading, if you reply saying that you have read and understand the rules, you will be awarded 40 bonus Parents Points. You won't see the points appear instantly, we will do it manually, so have patience.
Parents Points:1. Everyone starts out with 100 Parents Points (PP).
2. When you start a new topic, you will automatically earn 10 PP’s.
3. When you reply to an existing topic, you will automatically earn 5 PP’s.
4.
DO NOT make spam posts to increase your PP’s (or for any other reason) on any of the forums. This includes, but is not limited to, posts with a subject “Look in here” and inside it says “Got you to look”. If the post has no meaningful content, it will be considered spam and be removed. The author of the post will lose 20 PP’s per spam post made and their post count will go down by 20 posts per spam post made.
5. If you're feeling generous, you can donate some or all of your PP's to other members. This is completely your call.
6. You can deposit some or all of your PP's into your "ATP bank account". PP's earn an interest rate of 1% per day while in the bank. You can withdraw them at any time.
Arcade:1. Even though you start accruing PP's immediately, you cannot access the arcade until you have a minimum of 100 posts. For new members, this means that they will have a minimum of 600 PP's when they gain access to the arcade (possibly more depending on how many new topics vs. replies they have).
2. It costs 20 PP's to play each game. The points will be automatically deducted when you load the game on your screen.
3. You will win 60 PP's if you beat the high score. You will not win any PP's if you already had the high score and you beat yourself. I already had to tell Lori “you don't get points for kicking your own butt!”

4. Clicking “Refresh” on your browser will not cheat the computer in to thinking that you get to keep your points – you will still have the points deducted for playing a second time. On some of the games, your score does not get submitted if you have clicked refresh to play again, so I would not recommend doing this as a method of restarting the games.
5. We try to test the games before releasing them for live play. Some of the games we had were removed because they weren't submitting scores, or they had glitches. We may not have caught all the glitches, so if you think that you have found a problem in a game, please PM us. If it is a legitimate glitch, you will be credited your points for playing it once and we will decide whether to remove the games or not. We did not create any of these games, so we can't fix them – therefore they will be removed if they are not working properly.
PP's LotteryThere is a lottery for PP's that runs every day. If you click the Parent's Points link at the top of the page, you will see a Lotto menu on the left hand side. The 3 options in the menu are "Current Status", "Purchase Ticket" and "Past Winners".
1. Each ticket costs 20 PP's, and each member can buy up to 20 tickets per day. You purchase tickets by clicking on the "Purchase Ticket" menu item on the PP's page.
2. The jackpot starts at 100 points and increases each time a member buys a lottery ticket.
3. If you click the "Current Status" menu item, you will see what the current jackpot is at and who the last winner was.
4. If you click the "Past Winners" menu item, you will see a list of past winners, how much they won and when they won.
Recipes SystemAllThingsParents has implemented an online "recipe book" for its members! If you click on the "Recipes" link at the top of the page, you will be able to browse existing recipes, rate existing recipes and add your own recipes to share. There are categories for different types of recipes, but feel free to suggest additional categories as well!
Reviews SystemAllThingsParents has implemented an online product review system for its members! It's always nice to read reviews on what others think about certain products before you buy them, and we thought it would be even better to know that the reviews are coming from other members of a community that you belong to! You can PM members to ask additional questions about the products if you are considering buying it and want to know more! We have created categories that we think make sense, but feel free to suggest additional categories as well!
Thanks!

First and foremost, we want to welcome the newest member of our Moderation Team - Melissa!

We had A LOT of moderator applications submitted and want to thank absolutely everyone for their interest. Melissa has been with ATP since September of 2007, and has been hosting for almost as long. She is a talented siggy/blinkie maker and is well-known around the forums. Melissa has never hesitated to lend a helping hand and we feel that she will be an excellent addition to the team! If you don't know who Melissa is,
click here to view her profile.
Second, we have FINALLY opened up our main site -
http://www.allthingsparents.com! When you have a chance, please check it out! We will be adding content to it here and there and changing things from time to time, so please check in and see what's new. We are hoping that the new main site will generate more traffic in to the forums.

Third, in addition to the main page, we have added a shopping page to our site (you'll notice a "Shop" link on the main page)!

We have done this in association with Amazon. Basically, it is just like shopping directly on Amazon - all of the same items are available, you use your existing Amazon account to make purchases, and all the prices are the same. The difference is that ATP will get a percentage of the sale if you shop at Amazon through our shopping link. These proceeds will go to pay for our servers. Many of you know that we didn't want to put third-party advertising on our site because the ads are annoying and can slow the site down a lot. Third-party ads are how most forums make the money to maintain the site, but because we don't want to resort to that, we have added the Amazon store. We are NOT asking you to spend any money at our store that you wouldn't spend anyway, we are only asking that if you had intended to purchase something anyway, please consider buying it through our Amazon store.
Click here to visit our Amazon store!
Fourth, we have added a Guest Book to our site as well! We think this is a fun way for our members and visitors to leave a "we were here" mark and give us feedback on the site and the community, so please add yourself to our guest book! Anyone who is banned from our forums has also been banned from viewing or posting in our guest book.
Click here to visit our Guest Book!
Finally, we have added a fun new feature to our forums! I think you're all really going to love this, I'm very excited about it!

When you are in a forum looking at the list of topics displayed, you can now place your mouse over the subject of a post and a small preview of the post's content will appear on the page. Basically, you can briefly preview a post before opening it to see the first few sentences of its content!

Edit: If the new feature isn't working for you, please check out this post:
http://www.allthingsparents.com/forums/ind...showtopic=67487Well, that's it for now...we have a few more changes that will be coming shortly and we will let you know what they are when they are ready!
